Recently I have been researching the history of Mons (the city in Belgium where we live). In the local library I came across this painting with an interesting story behind it. There was a story circulating around the time of WWI about a group of angels that saved a British troop of soldiers while they retreated from the city of Mons, Belgium. I thought that was amazing when I first read about it.
